You should hire a professional to help you with the website design for your website. There is some software that can help you with the basics of website design but it will not help you to be able to have your website stand out from the sea of other websites that are found online.

Don’t use too many different fonts or text colors on your web pages. Word processing or web authoring software may present a dizzying array of specialty fonts or wacky colors, but if you use too many, the text on your website may become unreadable. A good practice is to use just one or two fonts per page and avoid excessive use of bold or italic text.

Keep user interface tools consistent and user friendly. Keep all underlined text clickable and allow for a change of color of links already clicked. If your site is user friendly and consistent throughout all the pages, people will be more likely to remain on your site for longer periods, as well as visit your site more than once.

Design a clear navigational path for your visitors to follow. Make important links easy to see, provide menus on either side of the page,and use those links and menus to connect to as many pages of your site as possible. This will make it easy for your visitors to find what they are looking for right from the first page.
